Type III, notably thicker than Type II at typically .002″ vs. .0006″ respectively, exhibits greater resistance to scratching and heavy wear.

Another type of anodizing, commonly referred to as “architectural” anodizing, mirrors Type II anodizing but utilizes metallic ion dying, which is entirely colorfast in sunlight.
